Wasswa and his twin brother Kato were brought to BKU after Victoria had been contacted by a relative of their dead father. Their father had been killed in his own garden following a family dispute over land while their mother was pregnant with them. The relative was concerned because their mother already had too many babies. She had already taken Kato, but Wasswa was still with their mother and had already begun showing signs of malnutrition. Wasswa came first in January 2012, with their mother begging Victoria to please take care of her son. After the father’s last funeral nights in April, relatives asked Victoria to take Kato and keep the twins together. Kato then became a Bright Kid as well, and in May began attending school with his brother!
