Bio:

Born in 1993, Vincent was found at the Cultural Center Internally Displaced Peoples Camp in Lira Municipality in Northern Uganda.  He was very active within the camp. He attended school and helped his mother and grandmother work and take care of their home.  Vincent was among the first kids recruited to be a part of Victoria’s scout troop, which was in charge of ensuring that the sanitation standards of the IDPC were maintained.  Before going to the IDPC, the LRA killed Opio’s father. The LRA rebels subsequently murdered his mother as she returned home from work.  Sunrise Children’s Village (Now Bright Kids Uganda) took Opio in September 2003.  Unfortunately, He lost his grandmother a year later; leaving him with no known relatives.  Bright Kids Uganda has planned a trip to travel to the north to see if Opio’s next of kin can be located.  He is much disciplined, loves playing football, Geography is his best subjects and he wants to study hard and become a journalist.
