Josephine was brought to Victoria after she began to miss school because her mother became very sick with HIV and could no longer afford to send her. Her father had already died of AIDS at the time. The headmistress of the school sent students to find out what was wrong. When they found out what had happened, the headmistress sent Josephine and her uncle to meet with Victoria. Victoria originally turned Josephine away, because she had too many kids already, and she couldn’t condone a child walking to school so early in the morning alone, which is what Josephine did every morning. About a month later, Victoria found someone who was interested in sponsoring Josephine and officially welcomed her to Bright Kid. Josephine performs well at school, and now attends boarding school.
