- CAROLINE NABBAGALA
Caroline was brought to BKU by a Victoria after she came across Ruth Nakalema with very malnourished kids, four of them staying with their mother who was expecting a fifth child while at the same time HIV positive. She is a sister to Racheal Namusoke, Catherine Nawajje and Gloria Nakaweesa. They were renting one room at Shs.50,000/= and had no extended family support at all. They had only two mattresses in the house, one being used by the mother and the other being shared by all the four kids. Ruth was struggling to live in her room. BKU bought for the mother a bed, mattresses for each kid, bed sheets, blankets and plenty of second hand clothes. We also donated food items and multivitamins for the mother. Rent was paid for some period and BKU Staff carried out routine visits to the family, delivering fruits and vegetables.
On 29/11/2020, the mother was admitted to Mulago Hospital for blood transfusion as her blood count was very very low and BKU continued to support her in every way possible.
She was received at BKU home since her mother could not adequately support her.
