Siddy lost both mother and father to AIDS shortly after the end of the war. Her dad had run to Lira Town while the mother hid in the neighboring village. All their children born before during the war perished in the Barlonyo attack. But Siddy and her other junior siblings were born after the war. Their father got aids first, died and their mother passed away two years later, leaving them with the grandmother and dad on the maternal side. She is part of the BKU’s Adopt A Village Program.
